IRS organized the event “The Future of Ukrainian Cities in Focus” as part of COP28 in Dubai. The IRS team disclosed the details of the projects and raised important questions regarding the sustainable reconstruction of Ukrainian cities.  

The IRS team managed to attract attention to the issues of reconstruction of Ukrainian cities at a high international level. Using the examples of Irpen, Borodyanka, and Odesa, the IRS team shared their own experience, challenges, and even mistakes to show key aspects of the mission to restore Ukrainian cities.

The Club of Mayors, which includes more than 1,100 cities of Ukraine, acted as a co-organizer. The event was attended by representatives of the largest US architectural company “Gensler”, the Italian office Stefano Boeri Architetti, the Chilean Thought Group, and the Dutch office Madma. Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, gave a welcome speech. IRS is the only event that had a panel in the Ukrainian Pavilion at the UN Climate Conference on sustainable urban renewal of Ukraine.
